Thank you for your interest in the Art Directors Club of Denver! The Club has been around since 1955, and has over 500 members and participants. We offer exciting monthly programs and events, a website, membership directory, Annual Show and Student Show, Mentor program, job listings, networking and volunteer opportunities, education involvement and many other resources. We’re sure that you will find many great benefits from your membership.
The 2011-12 season is well under way. This marks our 56th year. Back in 1955, Denver art directors were seeking recognition for their talents, which were already recognized in the larger markets such as New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. They believed that good art was also good business, and Denver needed to update its thinking. With experienced art directors such as Bill Moomey, recently hired at Coors, familiar with New York ways and art directors’ organizations, as well as influences from the International Design Conference in Aspen, by then in its 4th year, a small band of local art directors set out on a mission to bring a higher level of advertising art to this so-called western cow-town.
Fifty-five years later it is still the mission of the Art Directors Club of Denver to continue the tradition of elevating the art of advertising and design to the national level. One way ADCD achieves this is by serving as Denver’s sponsor and host for the One Club One Show Awards each year, giving Denver and Colorado a national presence in the design industry.
At the local level the club offers a season full of speakers and events that are sure to inform and entertain. Our event season runs September through May, see our event calendar. Be sure to check our web site regularly for upcoming events, news and more!
As a member you will receive information about our speaker presentations featuring some of the best and brightest creatives from across the country. You also get free admission to all speaker programs; reduced rates on annual and student show entry fees and many other benefits. Student members also have access to all professional events as well as a program designated just for students. Our members are also eligible for White Crown Federal Credit Union membership.
